Princess Rising
Honors received by Cara Elizabeth Yar Khan for her contributions to diversity, inclusion, and humanitarian work.
Cara's work as a humanitarian and an advocate for people living with disabilities has been recognized by business, civic, and media organizations. Each honor below reflects a different part of that work — from inclusion in the workplace to humanitarian service.
Recognition along the way is never really about the trophy itself. For Cara, each honor arriving from business, civic, and media organizations has been a marker of a longer journey, one shaped by living bravely and serving others in the face of adversity. These acknowledgments trace the many strands of her work, from championing inclusion in the workplace to lending her voice to humanitarian causes. Seen together, they read less like a list of accomplishments and more like a map of the people and communities who have walked alongside her, offering support, partnership, and shared purpose along the way.
Inclusion in the workplace sits at the heart of much of this recognition. Being named an outstanding voice for diversity and inclusion reflects a commitment to making rooms more welcoming, not just for some but for everyone. That work is rarely glamorous; it happens in conversations, in policy, in the quiet persistence of showing up and speaking plainly about what still needs to change. Honoring that effort matters because it signals to others that the work is seen and worth continuing. It also reminds organizations that inclusion is not a single gesture but an ongoing practice, built one honest conversation at a time.
Humanitarian service runs alongside that advocacy, and the awards that celebrate it point to a wider circle of care. Whether the focus is children, families, or communities facing hardship, the thread is the same: showing up for people when it counts. Cara's story, including the challenges she has faced personally, has shaped how she understands adversity in others. That lived experience lends credibility to her public speaking and advocacy, allowing her to speak about resilience not as an abstraction but as something practiced daily. Recognition for that service is really recognition of the people and causes behind it.
What ties these honors together is a shared belief that visibility can open doors for others. Being listed among honorees and recognized by business and media organizations creates opportunities to amplify voices that are too often overlooked, especially those of people living with disabilities. The point of celebrating these moments is not to dwell on the past but to carry their momentum forward, into new programs, new conversations, and new partnerships. Each award becomes a reminder to keep rising, to keep serving, and to keep making space for others to do the same.

Cara was diagnosed with Hereditary Inclusion Body Myopathy (HIBM) at age 30, a rare muscle-wasting disease that leads to quadriplegia. She continued her career as a Resource Mobilization Specialist at UNICEF Haiti and has spoken widely on inclusion and nondiscrimination against people living with disabilities.
